About the project

Currently rainbow heart is at it’s inception, the most important step is finding the right collaborators to be the founding partners. At which point, the values may be adjusted, the ideas refined to suit it’s members. There is some capital behind the project but more is needed in order to finance a property for 10+ people to live in, space to run retreats, grow vegetables and care for animals. Depending on the investment, there may be a shared house option or the option of buying a property with multiple houses so that partners would each have their own dwelling.

The idea is to have different types of members:

• Founding partners: Investment minimum £150K (bearing in mind this could be your home for life)
• Skilled collaborators: who exchange labour for their stay, this can be temporary or ongoing
• Creatives, artists and ceremony holders: Depending on their offering for the community this could either be a retreat for them staying at an agreed cost per month (c.£1-1.5K).
• Van lifers: Van spots will be available for £250/month for members dropping by to participate.

As for the location, the current thinking is that it would be in the South West of the UK, where the ocean is accessible, the ancient land spirit is strong and the space is open.

The preference is for there to be a minimal mortgage, with an overall aim of being as financially sound as possible within 5 years and no dependency on any kind of debts.

Hosting retreats, guests, events and educational or charitable field trips would provide an income which would be paid as dividends to Founding Partners after the first 5 years.

The aim is not for this to be a big profit making machine, but a gentler exchange. Most profits would be re-invested into the property maintenance, or spent on community supplies or contributed to charity partners.

The land will provide a base from which to create a seasonal vegetable garden and orchard using the principles of permaculture to improve the land and the soil that it sits on.
