Hello!
Great to meet you! I’m Melody, founder of Rainbow Heart Community.
I’m 40 years old, currently working full time for a tech company and in my private life I’m a practicing light-worker and facilitator of shamanic ceremonies.
I have been living in Sussex in a 1600’s farmhouse and project managed a rebuild of one of the old barns into a beautiful one bed conversion. Our farm is home to veggie patches , berry bushes and a variety of fruit trees in the orchard surrounded by the countryside.
Living in a place like this has given me such appreciation for growing food of our own, not only for the cost saving but the richness and the taste of plucking something from your garden and eating it with reverence. We’re lucky to have lots of lovely things to forage in England and I’ve been getting into foraging, herbalism, pickling and preserving.
In the future, I imagine community and resources are more important than ever and earning money matters less. Where people reconnect to their indigenous roots, their souls and where they came from. Ceremony is held with reverence, where we sit around the fire sharing home grown food made with care, deep in conversation, where play happens any time of day and craft is developed and learned through the practicalities of running this place.
I recently paid a visit to Laughton Lodge at a Shamanic retreat, it’s a community living project that was set up many years ago on the grounds of an old hospital. The property is set up with a row of beautiful eco houses and there is a community space with accommodation for events and guests. It was so inspiring to be there, not only to meet the people, who were lovely and so caring for us as guests and each other, but also to think about a different way of living for myself.
I’m a joyful person at heart and I long for a community of vibrant souls to share life with. I’ve always wanted an open house with friends and family coming to visit, and welcoming new friends for ceremony and workshops.
I appreciate peace, quiet and hibernation too but there’s something about community living that is so appealing and feels so right.
I love and respect indigenous practices and just want to soak up that beautiful knowledge. I’ve spent the last few years learning from Peruvian Master Healers of the Q’eros. Learning about their healing methods and their culture has been eye opening. Indigenous communities live together, in harmony with the earth and I want to learn to live in reciprocity and bring balance to my existence.
Having had a long history in project management in my work, I seem to somehow thrive in chaos. I’ve spent years bringing other people’s ideas to life, working with budgets, exploring materials and finding ways to bring new value. So now it feels like the right time to deliver my own project.
How it will work, where it will be is all yet to be decided. But I do have a family base in Cornwall, so my heart is pulling me to the south-west.
On this beautiful Aries new moon, and with Aries being in my tenth house of home, it feels poetic to put this out to the world on this day and just see if anyone resonates with what I’m feeling and if anyone feels the pull for a new adventure.
